This kit includes an indirect external Modbus RTU energy meter, providing a cost-effective solution when there's no Dutch or Belgian smart meter available via the P1-port. The energy meter can be connected to the RS485 port on all new Eve single products (NG910 V2 / NG910+). This enables the seamless utilization of smart charging functionalities, such as Active Load Balancing, in countries outside the Netherlands and Belgium, eliminating the necessity to invest in an expensive Modbus TCP/IP energy meter.

Note

• Do not change any setting on the meter itself. Use the Alfen preset instead via the service installer. The measured value on the screen will be different due to this. However, the charger will correct this value accordingly.

• The indirect meters with CT clamps require an additional step not yet included in the smart charging implementation guide.
  Make sure that the adress is set to 1, update time is set to 2000, readout time is set to 500, and function code is set to Input register.
  After selecting the right preset which is the "eastron sdm120ct" (1-phase indirect) or eastron sdm72ct (3-phase indirect) make sure to set the FLOAD32 to x1 instead of x100. See the image below.
